On 21 November 2020, Prof. Pan Jianfeng, Dean of Peking University Law School and PhD supervisor, was invited to give a lecture on Basic Issues of Civil Litigation. Prof. Zhan Shangang presided over the lecture, and Prof. Wang Xingfei from Southwest University of Political Science and Law and Prof. Liu Xuezai from Wuhan

Prof. Pan discussed the basic issues of civil litigation in three dimensions. The first dimension is the two main lines of civil litigation - the configuration of the right to sue and the right to try, and the civil procedure. The second dimension is the relationship between the system and the procedure. The third dimension is the relationship between procedure and process. Finally, Prof. Pan expressed his insights on the development trend of the evidence provisions of the revised Civil Litigation Evidence Regulations.

Prof. Zhan spoke highly of Prof. Pan's lecture. The lecture ended with a round of applause.
