On 14 November 2020 , Lecture 7 of Luojia Law Forum—“Opinions on the Updating of Civil Law Basic Theory after the Implementation of the Civil Code” was held. Prof. Sun Xianzhong, Member of the Academic Department of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Executive Director of the Chinese Law Society, Executive Vice President of the Civil Law Research Society of the Chinese Law Society, was invited to give the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Feng Guo, Dean of Wuhan University Law School, with the participation of Prof. Meng Qingguo, Prof. Qin Qianhong, Prof. Zhang Hong, Prof. Chen Benhan, Prof. Zhang Shanbin, Prof. Zhang Suhua, Prof. Luo Kun and Prof. Ran Keping.

Dean Feng extended a warm welcome to Prof. Sun, and introduced Prof. Sun's academic background, achievements and his outstanding contribution to the codification of the Civil Code.

With the theme of Opinions on the Updating of Civil Law Basic Theory after the Implementation of the Civil Code, Prof. Sun gave a lecture from the construction of the systematic thinking of the Civil Code, the protection of people's rights, the updating and transformation of the theory of civil legal acts and the establishment of general personality rights.

During the Discussion Session, Prof. Qin Qianhong provided in-depth comments from the perspective of legal application, legal hierarchy, value hierarchy and convergence of public law and private law. Prof. Zhang Hong discussed the trend of systematization, sinicization and humanization of the Civil Code. Prof. Meng Qinguo agreed with Prof. Sun's generalization of the system, humanity and standardization of the Civil Code.

At the Q&A session, Prof. Sun answered the questions about the nature of land management right. The lecture ended with a round of applause.
