Wu Yiwen won the second prize of the Seventh Teaching Competition for Young Teachers in Universities in Hubei Province

From May 14 to 16, the Seventh Teaching Competition for Young Teachers in Universities in Hubei Province, sponsored by the Trade Union of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports in Hubei and hosted by Huazhong Agricultural University, was successfully held at Huazhong Agricultural University. After 127 players from 50 colleges and universities in the province competed on the stage, Wu Yiwen won the second prize in the literature and history group with excellent performance.

The Youth Teaching Competition is a high-level competition for young teachers in colleges and universities in the province, which is held every two years. This year, there are five groups, including science, engineering, thinking and politics, literature and history, foreign languages, etc. The competition includes three links, such as teaching design, classroom teaching and reflection & defense; it adopts the form of immediate extraction of teaching content and on-site reflection and defense, aims to examine the comprehensive quality of each teacher.                                       

Wu Yiwen has been engaged in undergraduate teaching for many years and has accumulated rich teaching experience and skills. He has received many honors, such as "Zha Quanxing Professor 1977 Scholarship", "Yao Meizhen Outstanding Teacher Award" of Wuhan University Law School in 2018, and the first prize of the 9th Teaching Competition for Young Teachers in Wuhan University. During the preparation stage, he took the theory and practice of insurance law as the theme and structured the lecture in the form of special lectures, prepared the syllabus and the teaching design of 32 hours in total, and was recommended by the university to enter the provincial competition. Finally, he won the second prize with innovative content and flexible teaching skills.

In this competition, Wu Yiwen taught the course of Insurance Law based on the cultivation of students' basic knowledge and theories, focusing on the social development of insurance industry and the basic viewpoints of judicial decisions on insurance cases, cultivating students to use the analysis methods of insurance economics. In the field session, he insisted on the student-oriented approach and integrated the Civic Education into the teaching of insurance law. The remarkable achievement of Wu Yiwen in this year's Youth Teaching Competition is not only his useful exploration and breakthrough in the teaching field, but also the representative achievement of our school in deepening the teaching reform, insisting on training teachers by competition and promoting teaching by competition.
