On July 3, 2019, a dialogue on legal practice of capital Market of Wuhan University was successfully held in the economic law teaching and research department of Wuhan University School of Law. Bryan D. Flannery, a grade 2006 undergraduate of Wuhan University School of Law and senior lawyer of Kirkland & Ellis Law Firm, has given excellent lectures on " Lawyer Practice of Cross-border Financing and Capital Market " to teachers and students. Associate professor Yuan Kang acted as the host of the event. Professor Xiang Yan and associate professor Li An'an attended the event as invited guests. The lecture focused on four core points: the experience of first-class law schools in China and the United States, the professional experience sharing of top law firms in the world, the legal observation of global market and cross-border financing, securities issuance, debt financing and merger and acquisition case analysis.
At the beginning, Yuan Kang introduced Mr. Bryan to the audience in detail, combining his experience of studying and friendship with Mr. Bryan. Professor.Xiang Yan recalled Mr. Bryan's educational experience and his further education and growth after graduation from Wuhan University.
Mr. Bryan briefly introduced his growth, academic and work experience. Based on his experience in Wuhan University School of Law and the law school of George Washington University in the United States, Mr. Bryan deeply analyzed the differences between China and the United States in terms of curriculum system, teaching mode and purpose of study, and also discussed the differences in career planning of law students between China and the United States.
Li Anan expressed his gratitude to Mr. Bryan for bringing such a wonderful lecture and stressed the importance of cultural exchanges and communication between China and the United States. He looked forward to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and American law researchers and practical experts.
Finally, the dialogue ended with enthusiastic applause. Kirkland & Ellis was one of the top law firms in the world. According to a report of American Law Weekly in 2018, Kirkland & Ellis ranked as the world's largest law firm with total revenue of $3.165 billion.
