On June 15, as an academic activity to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the restoration of law education in Wuhan University, the fifth lecture of the "Weibo lecture of law" was held in the hall 120 of Wuhan University School of Law. Ji Weidong, who was the distinguished professor of "Yangtze River Scholar" of the Ministry of Education, senior professor of Humanities and social sciences of Shanghai Jiaotong University and professor of Kaiyuan Law School of Shanghai Jiaotong University, was invited to deliver lectures. Professor Leng Jing, Professor Zhao Shukun, Dean Feng Guo, Professor Zhang Wanhong, Vice Director of Japan International Exchange Fund Beijing Japan Cultural Center, Ms. Noguchi, and nearly 200 teachers and students attended the lecture. The lecture was chaired by Prof. Qin Qianhong.

Professor Ji Weidong gave a lecture on "Law and Social Governance in the Age of Artificial Intelligence Network". He introduced the traditional model of social governance, combined with several theories, pointing out that the traditional social governance mainly acted in the match of individual power trial and relationship network’s shaping.

Professor Ji Weidong emphasized that the information technology products such as artificial intelligence and Internet of Things had brought many conveniences to people, but also accompanied by huge risks. How to evaluate and control these risks is the main problem of networking social governance and system design of artificial intelligence.

He believed that in the process of research and development of AI technology in China, nine principles and implementation methods should be followed: sharing mutual trust, individual dignity, democratic participation, international cooperation, camera governance, openness and transparency, double regulation, tracking sanctions and preventive response.

During the conversation, Professor Leng Jing pointed out that AI had have an impact on people's daily life in all aspects, which is a major change that can not be ignored by individuals and absent from the country, according to the New Yorker magazine's report on unmanned factories and the He Jiankui Gene Editor's Event.

Professor Zhao Shukun believes that when we talk about "law and social governance in the era of artificial intelligence network", we should first define "social governance" and "artificial intelligence".

Professor Ji Weidong also answered the questions raised by teachers and students about the existence of the paradox that "human beings are dominated by artificial intelligence" and the balance between the social governance of big data and the protection of personal privacy.

Professor Feng Guo thought that people majoring in law should thought more deeply about the legal regulation of AI technology.

Professor Qin Qianhong pointed out that how to view and explain the great impact of artificial intelligence and networking on the traditional social governance model is a problem that the contemporary people of legal profession must face directly.
