Professor Wu Handong Delivered a Brilliant Speech at the Lecture on Law of Luojia

On April 9, 2019, professor Wu Handong, a senior professor of Zhongnan University of Economic and Law, was invited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the resumption of law education in Wuhan University. With the theme of "Intellectual Property Protection in the International Trade System", he brought a wonderful academic lecture to the teachers and students of Wuhan University. The lecture was chaired by Professor Ning Lizhi, the director of the Institute of Intellectual Property and Competition Law of Wuhan University. Professor Feng Guo, the dean of Wuhan University School of Law, professor Yu Minyou, the dean of China Border and Ocean Research Institute of Wuhan University, and professor Nie Jianqiang, the vice director of International Law Research Institute of Wuhan University, listened to this wonderful speech together with hundreds of teachers and students of Law School.

Professor Feng Guo introduced the basic information of Lecture on Law of Luojia. On behalf of Wuhan University School of Law, he expressed his respect and heartfelt thanks to Professor Wu Handong. He presented professor Wu Handong with a memorial card for his lecture.

Professor Wu took the China-US trade war as the breakthrough point, clarifying the core proposition, the background of the times and the international background of the trade war. He elaborated on the evolution of intellectual property protection in the international trade system and its realistic response, taking "the development of the times", "international change" and "China's response" as the logical main line of his speech.

In the interactive communication, the students asked questions about the legal status of artificial intelligence, the legalization of industrial policy, the codification of intellectual property rights and the legislative protection model of trade secrets.

Professor Yu Minyou put forward his personal views on the solution of international trade disputes. He believed that bilateral consultation was the best way to settle international disputes and individual disputes.

In the end, professor Ning Lizhi also shared his experience. He said that Professor Wu Handong's speech not only had a global perspective, but also a Chinese position. It's a great honor for the law students to have this opportunity to study.
