"Innovation of New Era Legal Education Forum" was Held Successfully

On November 24, the " innovation of new era legal education forum" hosted by Wuhan University Law School was successfully held in the 325 room and 108 lecture hall. More than 40 law experts and scholars from East China University of Political Science and Law, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Zhongshan University, Zhongnan University of Finance and Law, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, Shandong University, Beijing Normal University, Beihang University and other famous universities attended the meeting. The experts discussed around the topics of "legal education in the context of globalization" and "technology development and the response of legal education ". They exchanged new ideas, new methods and new explorations of legal education in the new era.

Forum 1: "legal education in the context of globalization" was hosted by Professor Song Fangqing, the dean of Xiamen University Law School, and Professor Huang Zhixiong, the vice dean of Wuhan University Law School.

Professor Ye Qing, the president of East China University of Political Science and Law, gave a speech on the theme of "building a kind of legal education facing the world and the future and helping the construction of Shanghai Technology Innovation Center". He proposed to build an international legal education system and accept the excellent legal education resources at home and abroad.

Professor Chu Beiping, the dean of the law school of Dalian Maritime University, delivered a speech on the theme of "conflict of ideas in international law services and the response of legal education". Professor Chu Peiping pointed out the differences of  law services, litigation and arbitration between China and the international community.

Professor Wang Guohua, the dean of the law school of Shanghai Maritime University, delivered a speech on the theme of "coordinated training mode of legal talents in new areas of the free trade zone". He pointed out that the new areas of the free trade zone needed to cultivate a team of high-quality talents.

Professor Yuan Zhijie, the deputy dean of the law school of Beijing Normal University, delivered a speech on the theme of "training global legal talents - experience of Beijing Normal University Law School". He pointed out that American Isolationism had made us face the challenges of cultivating the talents majoring in law science.

Professor Song Xiaoyan, the dean of the law school of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, gave a speech on the theme of "the importance of training international legal talents". Professor Song Xiaoyan mainly explained the theme from three aspects: the regularity of talent training, the needs of social development and the needs of national strategy.

Professor Wang Jian, the dean of law and politics school of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, delivered a speech on "how to cultivate legal talents to meet the challenges of globalization". Professor Wang Jian pointed out that the cultivation of legal talents had entered a new stage under the promotion of globalization.

Professor Zheng Shaohua, an assistant president of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, delivered a speech on the theme of "the upsurge of globalization and the cultivation of talents for global governance ".

Professor Yuan Quan, the dean of the law school of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, gave a speech on the theme of "serving the construction of GBA, developing undergraduate legal education with enthusiasm, characteristics and high requirement".

Professor Huang Yao, the dean of the law school of Sun Yat-Sen University, gave a speech on the theme of "thinking about the training mechanism of international legal talents".

Professor Zhang Zetao, the dean of the law school of Guangzhou University, made a speech on the theme of "preliminary exploration of legal talents training mode in GBA", which mainly elaborated the requirements of the construction of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay area for the cultivation of comprehensive innovative talents.

Professor Xu Guojian, the special dean of the school of international law, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, gave a speech on the theme of "thinking about the training of talents concerning foreign affairs".

In the discussion, professor Zhou Changjun, the dean of the law school of Shandong University, pointed out that in order to cultivate legal talents in the context of globalization, we must recognize the needs of cultivating legal talents and have firm will in action.

Forum 2: "technology development and the response of legal education " was hosted by Professor Miao Lianying, the dean of the law school of Zhengzhou University, and professor He Ronggong, the vice dean of the law school of Wuhan University.

Professor Li Hong from Tsinghua University Law School made a speech on the theme of thoughts on legal education in the new era. Professor Li Hong's speech revolved around three key words: reality of China. world vision, and the characteristics of the colleges.

Professor Peng Chengxin, the vice dean of Koguan School of law, Shanghai Jiaotong University, delivered a keynote speech entitled "reform and persistence of legal education".

Professor Zhou Jianghong, the executive vice dean of Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School, made a speech on intelligent justice and legal education. He talked about the close relationship between technological development and legal education.

Professor Yang Song, the vice president of Liaoning University, mentioned the challenges in legal education when he talked about the new thinking of the modernization of national governance and the cultivation of legal talents.

Professor Wang Jian, the vice president of Northwest University of Political Science and Law, made a speech on the theme of guiding ideology, institutional functions and system construction of the training of legal talents in the new era.

Professor Liu Renshan, the vice president of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, delivered a speech on "Reflections on the phenomenon of legal education in Wuhan University".

Professor Wang Zhiqiang, the dean of the law school of Fudan University, delivered a keynote speech entitled “emerging disciplines and interdisciplinary subjects of law science”. He pointed out that the emerging disciplines had distinctive characteristics because of its research objects.

Professor Yin Fei, the dean of the law school of Central University of Finance and Economics, made a speech on the theme of "Reflections on the cultivation of outstanding legal talents in the field of finance and economics in the new surroundings".

Professor Meng Qingyu, the vice president of Hebei University, made a speech on the topic of "scientific research repayed education: new exploration of the cultivation of outstanding legal talents". He stressed that the discussion for the relationship between scientific research and education should be limited to legal education.

Professor Chu Dianqing, the vice dean of Beihang University, delivered a speech named three dimensions of the dialogue between technology development and legal education.

In the discussion, Professor Chen Yuzhong, the vice dean of School of Political Science and Law of Hebei University, said that we should focus on cultivating the legal thinking ability and legal professional ability of students. Professor Xiang Yan talked about the understanding of the relationship between teachers and students in the new era. Professor Li Wanqiang, the vice dean of the law school of Xi'an Jiaotong University, said that the internationalization of legal education should be more refined.

Finally, professor Huang Zhixiong and professor He Ronggong respectively made a conclusion for the forum. "Innovation of New Era Legal education Forum" was one of the activities of the 40th anniversary of the restoration of legal education and the 111th anniversary of the establishment of law science in Wuhan University. The law school sincerely thanked all the participating universities for their blessing and support to the Wuhan University Law School. In the future, Wuhan University Law School would continue to learn and keep the advantages of traditional disciplines and catch up with the new disciplines.
