The Awarding Ceremony of "Zhang Min-Jiang Yishan Scholarship" in 2019 was Held

On November 12, 2019, the awarding ceremony of "Zhang Min-Jiang Yishan scholarship" was held in conference room 327. Professor Zhang Xiaodong, the son of  alumni Zhang Min and Jiang Yishan, the dean of the department of computer science and engineering of the Ohio State University, Hu Wei, the deputy secretary of the Party committee of the college, Yan Qian, the deputy director of undergraduate office, Ms. Yu Yi and eight students who received financial support attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Ms. Yan Qian.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the teachers and students watched the interview video of Mr. Zhang Min. In the video, he told the story of him and his alma mater with deep feelings, which made the teachers and students at the scene moved.

Later, Secretary Hu Wei delivered a speech. He hoped that the student receiving the help could be grateful and never forget to thank those who have helped them. They should strive for their ideals unremittingly and never be afraid of difficulties.

After that, Yu Xue, a grade 2017 student, made a speech as the representative of the students who were given financial support. She expressed her gratitude to the founders of the fund, Zhang Min and Jiang Yishan, and said that she would strive to realize the rule of law and pursue justice as students of Wuhan University.

Professor Zhang Xiaodong encouraged us to study hard and accumulate strength with his own experience. We were expected to be a person with the world in mind, and to contribute our strength to the promotion of social progress.

After the ceremony, Professor Zhang Xiaodong had enthusiastic communication with the assisted students around the topics of life planning and career development .

For the students who were subsidized, it was not only a grant awarding ceremony, but a spiritual exchange and an inheritance of love. In the days to come, students would  never forget to be grateful and stick to their dreams.
