From June 25 to June 26, 2020, Prof. Huang Zhixiong was invited to attend the 114th annual conference of the American Society of International Law and made a keynote speech at section of “The Promise and Limits of Cyber Power in International Law”.

The section was chaired by Prof. Monica Hakimi of the University of Michigan, USA. Mr. Charles Allen, Deputy General Counsel for the Pentagon, Mr. Douglas Wilson, Legal Counsel of the Government Communications Headquarters, UK, Ms. Sue Robertson of the International Law Division of the Australian Ministry of Justice and Ann Väljataga, Fellow of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Centre of Excellence. Prof. Huang is the only speaker from non-Western countries.

The Annual Conference of the American Society of International Law is one of the oldest, most academic and most influential international law conferences in the world. The conference was held online for the first time due to the impact of the epidemic. More than 50 topics were concerned and discussed by the international law community.
