Recently, the United Nations released the second draft treaty on business and human rights. In the process of revising the draft, Prof. Zhang Wanhong, Executive Director of the Institute of Human Rights, was invited to provide advice on it at an Asia-Pacific consultation. The consultation was chaired by Surya Deva, a member of the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights and Professor of Law at the City University of Hong Kong, and was held online due to the epidemic. Prof. Zhang's suggestions on expanding the scope of protection for victims of business-related abuse and improving remedial mechanisms are reflected in the second draft. The Institute of Human Rights in recent years in the emerging field of Business and Human Rights has a lot of research progress, Prof. Xu Yawen undertook the Ministry of Education 2017 major project "Business and Human Rights Research" (17JJD820019), Prof. Zhang was invited to be an member of the editorial board of the Business and Human Rights Journal, Oxford University Press, since 2019.
