On August 11, entrusted by Dean Feng Guo, Prof. Qin Tianbao, Vice Dean of Law School, was invited to participate in the Webinar on Legal Education in BRICS hosted by CENTRO BRASILEIRO DE MEDIACAO E ARBITRAGEM (CBMA), and gave a speech.
The conference was sponsored by CENTRO BRASILEIRO DE MEDIACAO E ARBITRAGEM (CBMA) and chaired by Prof. Daniel Brantes Ferreira, Vice President for Academic Affairs of the CBMA, and was attended by Prof. Elizaveta A Gromoa, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Division of the Law School of the South Ural State University, Russia; Prof. Ajay Tomas, Dean of the Law School of the Manay Rachna University, India; Prof. David McQuiod-Mason from KwaZulu-Natal University, South Africa, and Prof. Qin Tianbao were the keynote speakers and exchanged their views on the legal system of their countries, legal education, legal professional examinations, and teaching and research in law schools under the epidemic.
Prof. Qin also highlighted the development history, faculty group, research fields, talent cultivation and international cooperation of Wuhan University Law School to the participants, and introduced the successful experience of online teaching and defense during the epidemic, as well as the latest progress of research on legal issues related to the epidemic and various public lectures hosted by the School, which aroused widespread interest among the participants.
The participants agreed that exchanges between legal education and legal practice in BRICS countries should be strengthened, and decided to take this meeting as an opportunity to establish a platform and mechanism for mutual exchanges and cooperation, and to organize exchange visits and activities in due course.
