On October 27, 2023, organized by the College of International Education (CIE), 23 trainees from the Class of 2022 of the Foreign Aid Degree Prongram of the Ministry of Commerce went to Yichang to visit the Three Gorges Dam, China's Century Project, and to Niu Zaping Village, one of China's Beautiful Leisure Villages in 2023, to experience the spirit of China's new countryside construction under the rapid development of Yichang.

On the afternoon of 27th, teachers and students came to Yichang Yangtze River Protection Base for a visit. The exhibition of the Yangtze River Protection Base consists of five units, namely, Running of the River, Thousand Years of Ambition, Light of Civilization, Green Future, and Song of the Yangtze River, which reproduces the important contents and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping's "Three Symposiums". Through the visit and study, the participants felt the achievements of the Yangtze River protection and also realized the importance of protecting the Yangtze River.

The next stop was the Three Gorges Dam. The Three Gorges Dam stands in the Xilingxia River section, with a flood control capacity of 22.15 billion cubic meters, and was officially started in 1994. Standing on the 185 viewing platform, the participants clearly observed the whole picture of the Three Gorges Dam and fully felt the unparalleled super scale and grandeur of the Three Gorges Project. In the vast Yangtze River Basin, the Three Gorges Dam is like a "copper wall" across the river, playing an important role in openly swallowing, stopping floods and cutting peaks, and opening gates and draining waves, releasing floods and vacating reservoirs. After learning the historical reasons for the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, Ahmed, a participant from Turkey, exclaimed: "It is a miracle that touched the world that millions of immigrants made sacrifices and left their homeland for the construction of the Three Gorges Dam. The spirit of perseverance, self-reliance, and solidarity shown by them is worth learning from everyone."

In Niuzaping Village, which was awarded "China's Beautiful Leisure Village" in 2023, the participants visited the flower, fruit and wood carving bases of the village under the leadership of Jiang Shaohua, the secretary of the Party branch and director of the village committee of Niuzaping Village, to experience the spirit of craftsmanship on the spot. The visit enabled the trainees to understand more intuitively and clearly the actual results of China's rural revitalization work in different places, and to truly understand the Chinese government's 20-word rural revitalization strategy implementation policy of "prosperous industry, ecological livability, civilized township style, effective governance, and a rich life".

It is reported that the 23 participants are government staff from 14 countries, including Mongolia, Kenya, Congo (Brazzaville), Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Botswana, Tanzania, Oman, Iraq, Mozambique, Syria, Liberia, Uganda, Malawi, etc. This activity allows public officials from various countries to witness the process of the Chinese government's efforts to lead the masses to break the bottlenecks of development, realize income generation, create new business cards for rural revitalization, and thus experience the effectiveness of the implementation of China's rural revitalization strategy and its development.
