In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, the general office of the NPC Standing Committee held a symposium in the Great Hall of the people in Beijing on the morning of December 3 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the basic law in Macao. Li Zhanshu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Han Zheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the vice premier of the State Council, attended the symposium. Professor Qin Qianhong, professor Zhu Jie and associate professor Huang Mingtao were invited to take part in the symposium.

On the afternoon of that day, the Macao Basic Law Committee of the NPC Standing Committee held a symposium in the Great Hall of the people to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the basic law in Macao. As the representative of the experts, professor Qin Qianhong made a keynote speech entitled "promoting the development of GBA under the constitutional framework of one nation, two systems. Finally, the experts and scholars from the mainland and Macao agreed to further summarize the practical experience of the constitutional law and the basic law. They were willing to strengthen theoretical research and work together to form a high-quality research team, so as to complete the theoretical system of "one nation, two systems".

Shen Chunyao, the chairman of the Macao Basic Law Committee and the Legal Affairs Committee of the NPC Standing Committee presided over the meeting. More than 80 experts and scholars from the mainland and Macao took part in the symposium.
