Our Project Won Gold Award in the 5th China Youth Volunteer Service Project Competition

The final round of the 5th China Youth Volunteer Service Project Competition was successfully held in Dongguan, Guangdong Province from 22 November to 24 November 2020. Wuhan University Legal Aid Centre's project "Legal Aid to the Countryside, Love Warms the Hearts" won the Gold Award from the 1,000 finalists. This is the best result for the School of Law in this competition and the only project from Wuhan University to be awarded a gold medal.

                                             


The project team consists of Tan Mengni, Peng Yating, Li Shiyu, Lei Meng, Hou Dongqi, Gong Pengjin, Zeng Jia, Zhou Yongquan, Liu Tianhong, Tan Zuocai, Ye Chaoqiang, Qin Bingying, Chen Guanglei, Zhu Chengtao and Jin Yusong, with Xiang Yan, Ban Xiaohui and Zhang Qiong as project mentors. The team started preparing for the competition in August 2020 and went through the provincial competition, the preliminary and final evaluation of the national competition, and finally won the gold medal.

Wuhan University Legal Aid Centre continues to explore how to engage young students in rural governance in the context of the rural revitalisation strategy. The project is dedicated to safeguarding the interests of farmers through legal aid, promoting urban-rural integration at the level of legal services.
