On 24 December 2020, World Internet Conference Sub-Forum Released “Sovereignty in Cyberspace: Theory and Practice (Version 2.0)” Led by Our School. Zhao Zeliang, Deputy Director of the State Internet Information Office, attended the forum and delivered a speech. More than 50 renowned experts, scholars and business representatives in the field of Internet governance, including Counsellor Wang Lei, Coordinator of Network Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Joseph Nye of Harvard University, participated in the forum and exchanged views.
The forum discussed important topics such as the theory and practice of cyber sovereignty, cross-border data flow and global digital governance, new rules of cyber governance and international cooperation. Huang Zhixiong, Vice Dean of the Law School, Executive Director of the Institute of Cyber Governance and Professor of the International Institute for the Rule of Law, introduced the background, main contents and future vision of " Sovereignty in Cyberspace: Theory and Practice (Version 2.0)".
The World Internet Conference - Internet Development Forum, themed "Digital Empowerment for a Common Future - Building a Community of Destiny in Cyberspace Together", was successfully held on 23-24 November in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the forum. The forum was held online and offline, with more than 530 guests attending on site and a large number guests attending online.
