On October 22, the 15th lecture of Weibo Law Lecture was held at the Law School of Wuhan University. Prof. Hu Yunteng, former full-time member of the Trial Committee of the Supreme People's Court, former President of the Second Circuit Court, and President of the Case Study Society of the China Law Society, was invited to deliver the lecture, and Prof. Feng Guo, Dean of Wuhan University Law School, Prof. Mo Hongxian, Assoc. Prof. Huang Mingtao and other teachers and students attended the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Qin Qianhong.
Prof. Hu gave a lecture on some issues of Judicial Accountability Reform and Its Supporting Mechanism Reform, which was divided into four parts. Prof. Hu firstly reviewed the process of judicial accountability reform, and pointed out that judicial accountability reform is the most important major judicial reform initiative. The second part of the lecture mainly introduced the problems and goal orientation of the judicial accountability reform. The third part introduced the connotation of Chinese judicial accountability reform. Finally, Prof. Hu proposed two mechanisms for the full implementation of the judicial accountability system.
The audience asked questions about the social responsibility of trial judges, the immunity of judges from liability, the difference between China's guiding cases and case law, the balance between political and legal responsibility, and the employment of law students in the context of post system reform, and Prof. Hu responded to these questions in detail.
At last, Prof. Qin expressed his gratitude to Prof. Hu for his excellent lecture and hoped that the students would explore the complex issues of judicial accountability reform based on our country's reality.
