On June 25, as an academic activity to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the restoration of law education in Wuhan University, the sixth lecture of the "Weibo lecture of law" was held in the hall 120 of Wuhan University School of Law. Professor Tong Zhiwei, the vice director of the Institute of Constitutional Studies of Chinese law community was invited to give lectures. Professor Xu Yawen, the director of the Department of Jurisprudence of Wuhan University School of Law, and professor Jiang Guohua attended the talks. Professor Zhang Wanhong, the director of the Research Center for Public Welfare and Development Law of Wuhan University, Professor Luo Kun, the director of Judicial Case Study Center of Wuhan University, and nearly 200 faculties and students also attended the lecture. The lecture was chaired by Prof. Qin Qianhong.
Professor Tong Zhiwei delivered a lecture on the topic of "the theory of legal power as the interpretation system of legal phenomena".
Professor Xu Yawen considered that Tong Zhiwei's critique of the rights-based theory and the unification of rights and obligations is very profound in logic and theory, but it was expected that we should seek common ground while reserving differences.
Professor Jiang Guohua explained the relationship between public interest and personal interest by using the analytical approach of legal right.
During the Q&A, some faculties and students raised questions relevant to the topic of the lecture. Professor Tong Zhiwei answered the questions respectively.
Professor Qin Qianhong expressed gratitude to professor Tong Zhiwei. He pointed out that academics should always be open and active. Mutual criticism from different perspectives and the extensive discussions were also the driving force for the improvement of theoretical system and the source of social development and progress.
