The 3rd edition of the Singapore International Commercial Mediation Competition was successfully conducted online for two weeks from 22 to 31 October 2021, with the first week of the competition running from 22 to 24 October 2021 and the second week of the competition running from 30 to 31 October 2021. The main organizers of the competition are Singapore International Mediation Institute, Collaborative Dispute Resolution Club, and Peacemakers Consulting Services. Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy, Singapore International Mediation Center, and Singapore Mediation Center also provided a lot of support to the success of the competition. The competition attracted more than 400 participants from 34 different countries and regions, with 48 teams and 76 judges participating.

Wuhan University Law School, Wuhan University Academy of International Law and Global Governance and Wuhan University Institute of International Law strongly supported the Wuhan University team to participate. Associate Professor Qiao Xiongbing from Wuhan University Law School and Zhuang Ke, a Master of Private International Law student in Class of 2020, served as the coach. The four team members were Deng Yudong, a Master of International Economic Law student in Class of 2020, Zhang Yiduan, a Master of International Economic Law student in Class of 2021, Yang Zijia, an undergraduate student in Class of 2019, and Deng Yajia, an undergraduate student in Class of 2019. In addition, the senior members of Wuhan University's International Commercial Mediation Team gave careful guidance, and our team also had two mock exchange matches with the Commercial Mediation Team of China University of Political Science and Law.

The competition topics were adapted from real cases and were highly professional. In this competition, our team participated in seven rounds, five rounds as a mediation party agent and two rounds as a mediator. After two weeks of competition, the WHU team won the bronze medal in the Mediation Advocacy competition and the bronze medal in the Mediation competition.

The competition has largely enhanced the international reputation of Wuhan University, Wuhan University Law School, Wuhan University Academy of International Law and Global Governance and Wuhan University Institute of International Law. Wuhan University will continue to contribute its wisdom and strength on playing the role of the Singapore Convention on Mediation and to establish a legal system of commercial mediation with Chinese characteristics.
