On November 14, the 10th session of the series of introductory lectures on law of Wuhan University hosted by the law school of Wuhan University was held in Room 201, teaching building 4, Ministry of Arts and Science. The theme of the lecture was "China's economic law, born at the same time with the reform and opening up and the revival of the rule of law". Professor Sun Jin, the vice director of China Business Law Research Association, delivered the speech. All 2019 undergraduate students from Wuhan University Law School attended the lecture.
At the beginning of the lecture, Prof. Sun Jin introduced himself briefly, and extended a sincere welcome to all the 2019 undergraduate students of Wuhan University Law School.
First of all, Prof. Sun Jin raised three questions: what was economic law, what was reform and opening up, and what was legal revival. After answering these three questions, Prof. Sun Jin drew a conclusion that there would be no economic law without reform and opening up and the revival of the legal system.
Then, Prof. Sun Jin demonstrated the inevitability of the emergence of China's economic law. The emergence of economic law seemed to be accidental, but in fact, it was a historical necessity. Economic law, especially the system construction of anti-monopoly law and anti-unfair competition law, was a successful model of China's system modernization.
Then, he introduced the multistage of the development of China's economic law. The economic system reform of China was a long-term process, during which economic law gradually grew up.
Next, Prof. Sun Jin objectively analyzed the inborn shortcomings of China's economic law and further reflected on the existing problems of China's economic law.
In the context of comprehensively deepening reform, China's economic law currently stood in a new turning point. With the modernization of national governance capacity, we should speed up the construction of legal system. In addition, we should regard the market competition as the core mechanism in the market economy system.
On the basis of what he said, Prof. Sun Jin made a conclusion which also inspired us in our future study of economic law. China should open its mind and embrace all outstanding civilizations in the world, including the civilization of rule of law, market economy and economic law, so that we could move forward.
Finally, the students actively raised queations. Some students asked whether there was a conflict between what should be and what exactly was in the development of China's economic law. Prof. Sun Jin replied that there was a gap between what should be and what was, but it was normal.
Time passing quietly, the lecture benefited the students greatly. The lecture came to an end in warm applause.
