On 24 December 2020, Xinhua News Agency interviewed Prof. Sun Jin of Wuhan University School of Law on the anti-monopoly of platforms and the sustainable and healthy development of the digital economy.

According to Prof. Sun, monopoly is the enemy of competition, and without competition there is no innovation. For regulators, a balance needs to be found between encouraging innovation and effective regulation, with a particular focus on incentive-based approaches to regulation.
