May 29th, 2019 is the 10th anniversary of the death of Professor Han Depei, a famous jurist, educator and prominent activist in China. Early in the morning, Representatives of faculty and students of Wuhan university School of Law cherish the memory of Mr. Han in front of Professor Han's bronze statue, and some scholars in law also participated. Professor Huang Jin, president of the Chinese Society of International Law, presided over this commemoration. Professor Feng Guo, the dean of the School of Law, led the teachers and students to present flowers and bow to the bronze statue of Professor Han.

Han Depei taught in Wuhan university for sixty-four years since 1946. He passed away on May 29th,2009 when he was 99. Despite various difficulties, Mr. Han studied abroad in early youth. After returning home with substantial knowledge, he put down roots in Wuhan University, holding several posts with solid academic foundation and excellent political ability. When Professor Han was nearly seventy years old, he set up the School of Law, the Institute of International Law and the Institute of Environmental Law. New phase of private international law and environmental law research has emerged since then, benefiting from Professor Han’s legal thoughts and noble morality.
