Our team won the second prize among the 39 registered teams, and our team members Li Xi and Liu Fangtong won the best debater (round robin) award with the second and sixth highest individual points respectively after a total of 51 moot sessions over three days.

The Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court is one of the leading moot court competitions in international investment law and has been successfully held for 12 consecutive sessions since 2008. 2019 was the first year that the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) hosted a "warm-up" competition at home. In 2021, the event was upgraded from a "warm-up" to a "qualifier" in China. This event attracted 39 teams from 33 law schools in China, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China and China University of Political Science and Law. A total of 71 professionals in the field of investment arbitration, including arbitrators, law professors and lawyers from various countries and regions, served as judges for the arbitration.

The team was coached by Prof. Qi Tong and Fan Rui, a postgraduate student of International Economic Law in the class of 2018, and was composed of four postgraduates, Liu Diwan, Huang Ke'er, Li Xi and Liu Fangtong. The second prize for the team and the two finalists for the best debater showcased the solid international law skills and fluency in English of the students from WHU.
