The 1st China Health Nomocracy and Policy Forum was held

On 9 April 2021, the 1st China Health Nomocracy and Policy Forum, co-organised by Wuhan University and Taikang Insurance Group, was held at the Wuhan International Conference Centre. More than one hundred guests from the Constitution and Law Committee of the National People's Congress, the National Health Care Commission, the China Health Law Society, the China Insurance Association, the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the Hubei Health Law Research Society, Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Social Science Literature Press, Taikang Insurance Group and Han Kun Law Firm attended the forum.

                                             

The forum began at 9:00 a.m. Wu Yiwen, Vice Dean of Wuhan University Law School and Executive Director of Wuhan University's Center for the Study of the Greater Health Legal System, presided over the forum. The forum began with opening speeches by Xu Yeqin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Wuhan University, and Jin Yi, Head of Compliance of Taikang Insurance Group.

Later, Jiang Bixin, Deputy Director of the Constitution and Law Committee of the National People's Congress, Wang Chenguang, Professor of Tsinghua University Law School, Shang Jingguo, Member of the Party Committee and Secretary General of the China Insurance Association, Mao Zhenhua, Director of the Wuhan University Dong Fureng Economic & Social Development School, and Liu Tao, Deputy Director of the Policy and Regulation Department of the National Health Commission of the PRC, delivered their keynote speeches.

After the keynote speech, the launch ceremony of Annual Report on China Health Nomocracy (2020) began. The general director of the report, Feng Guo, Dean of Wuhan University Law School and Director of the Centre for Research on the Rule of Law in Health, Liu Xiaojun, Chief Editor of the Collected Works Branch of the Social Sciences Academic Press, and Li Xintian, Vice President of the Health Law Research Association of the Hubei Law Society, jointly released the Report.

After the launch ceremony, the Summit Dialogue on the Rule of Law in Health began, moderated by Zhou Wei, Deputy Director of Wuhan University's Research Centre on the Rule of Law in Health. Chen Yunliang, Dean of the Law School of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Qin Qianhong, Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, Cao Yanlin, Director of the Research Office of Medical and Health Law of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Shi Lingling, Head of Compliance and Legal Affairs of Taikang Health Industry Investment Holding Co Ltd, and Li Chaoying, Partner of Han Kun Law Firm, had a dialogue on the topic of "The construction and development trend of China's health rule of law in the post-epidemic era". The in-depth dialogue among the leaders, scholars and expert guests further enriched the conference and sublimated its theme. Finally, the 1st China Health Nomocracy and Policy Forum came to a successful conclusion with a round of applause from all the participants.

The success of this forum is a demonstration of the important achievements of China's health legal system research. Wuhan University Law School and Wuhan University Health Law Research Centre will continue to work together on the important issues of the current gaps in China's health law system, aiming to provide support for promoting the "Health China Strategy" and improving the health law system.
