Office of the Chinese People's Political, the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese jointly held a National Day reception at the Great Hall of the People on 28th to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Wang Yang, member of Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended and delivered a speech.
Prof. Zhu Jie of Wuhan University was invited to attend the National Day Reception. Prof. Zhu Jie, vice dean of the Law School and Executive Director of Wuhan University Cross-Strait, Hong Kong and Macao Legal Research Center, has long been engaged in research on cross-strait, Hong Kong and Macao legal issues, presiding over one major project of Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in the field of philosophy and social sciences, six projects entrusted by the Ministry of Education involving Hong Kong and Macao, and two special projects of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Basic Law Research (including one excellent achievement grant). His reports were accepted by the relevant parties and have effectively supported the fight against "Hong Kong independence".
The reception was hosted by Yang Jiechi, member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Working Committee. Some members of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, leading comrades of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council and National Committee For the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, more than 800 representatives of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese attended the reception.
