In order to implement the requirements of "Improving the level of opening up" and promoting the high-quality development of " The Belt and Road Initiative" proposed in the report of The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, strengthen the international dissemination of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, to better promote exchanges between international students and Chinese students, and to expand the influence of Chinese culture, starting from this semester, the Master's program in International Law and Chinese Law in English is open to Chinese students. Chinese students can take elective courses through the graduate teaching system. This initiative gives full play to the role of quality course resources to improve the English language skills of Chinese students and better meet the needs of students to communicate and improve with each other. At present, the four full English courses International Treaty Law, Legal Essay Writing, New Frontiers of International Cooperation and International Law and International Intellectual Property Law offered in this semester have all entered the teaching stage and are working well. International students have taken the opportunity to establish contacts with Chinese students through the courses and actively expand their extra-curricular activities, which better promote mutual learning and improvement among students.

  The program started in 2008 and was established by the Ministry of Commerce in 2015. Over 200 foreign students from more than 50 countries and regions have been enrolled in the program, and most of them have become the pillars of their countries after completing their studies, serving as bridges and links of friendship with China and playing an important role in international cooperation and foreign trade. The program is taught in English and most of the lecturers have overseas study experience, making it a popular and trusted program for international students. The program has been awarded the project funding for the construction of the full English brand program of Wuhan University, and two courses under the program, "Chinese Public Law" and "International Civil Litigation and International Commercial Arbitration", have been approved as the brand courses for international students in Wuhan University in 2022.
